CHIC ON THE CHEAP-3 GREAT CAREER LOOKS FOR LESS, PLUS MY THIRD BLOG AWARD!

Monday, January 02, 2012

This post is dedicated to my daughter's sister-in-law Riki Greenberg, who specifically requested I do more of the long ago archived "Chic on the Cheap" series that I used to do for Kosher Street. So I'm bringing it back for a spin.

Here, I decided to put together three career 'looks for less' that can also be worn on Shabbos or even for a dressy evening out.

ALMOST EVERY ITEM HERE IS UNDER $50!!

LOOK 1: CORAL AND COGNAC

LOOK 2: THE CLASSY LADY (earrings and skirt are over $50)

LOOK 3: PEACHY ROMANTIC

Now I want to thank Debra from Acquired Objects for awarding me my third blog award!! Woohoo!
The rules of winning this award are that you have to say 5 things about yourself and then award 5 other blogs. Here are my five things:

1. My favorite age for raising kids is (believe it or not) is the teenage years. I'm happiest when I'm hanging out with my kids!
2. My favorite place in the world is Jerusalem, with Miami Beach coming in a close second. The one place I'm dying to visit and have never been to is Italy.

3. I absolutely cannot start my day without my beloved breakfast that my husband makes for me every morning. It consists of coffee, a sunnyside egg, a slice of sprouted grain toast and some butter or cream cheese. I top this all off with a cup of green tea.

4. I always find excuses for people who behave badly. My attitude of trying to understand the reason people do things sometimes gets me in trouble and attracts friendships that are not always healthy. I need to work on exposing myself to positive, not negative, energy in people.

5. People always ask me what my secret is about looking younger than my age, but beside for the possibility that practicing yoga and avoiding white flour has anything to do with it, I think it's all about the attitude...and good genes.

Well, there you have it. Now I'd like to pass along this award to these five fabulous blogs. I am so grateful that the blogosphere is full of amazing people I get to interact with on a daily basis! Go check them out:

  9. Love your chic but cheap boards especially the first one. You're very welcome for your blog award and it's well deserved. I'm having a chat with my husband this weekend about him and his lack of cooking lately, I'd be happy with a piece of toast.

    Enjoy your day!

  11. Congrats on the award, I always like finding out more about the person behind the blog.

The three looks are fabulous, all great. In a way I'm lucky because I can wear whatever I want at work (at least for now) as I mainly work from home. On the downside though there's no real reason to get dressed up in a really great outfit for work... ;-)

    Love from London xo

  20. Hi Sharon! First, love your suggestions for ALL of the outfits! (and don't you just love the word cognac? - but I digress).

And it was so fun just reading your answers to the questions about you for the award. I, like everyone else, think you look SO fabulous it's hard to believe you have kids older than toddlers. I think I just might have to start eating your breakfasts of champions! Hope your new year is too fabulous for words darling!
