THE CANDY COLORS OF LOUIS VUITTON SPRING COUTURE 2012

Tuesday, February 07, 2012

As New York Fashion Week fast approaches (and I'm making plans to be in New York to capture some of the festivities, and hopefully bring you some great fashion surprises) I still owe you this post from Paris Fashion Week, as promised last week. I had mentioned that this was by far my favorite collection, partially because it was almost completely modest and ladylike, and also because I  adored the soft burst of candy colors amid the backdrop of the magical white carousel.

Notice the juxtaposition of the delicate over sized lace and flowers, paired with structured jackets adorned with edgy zippers. Other details I loved were the gorgeous flower overlays, the touch of feathers and the over sized lace collars...oh my! And let's not overlook the fabulous strappy shoes, textured bags, angelic makeup and princess like hair! My only question is, am I the only one that is wondering why the clothing looks like it's a few sizes too big? Either they're finally sending a subliminal message that the models are too thin and acknowledging that real people need slightly larger clothing, or simply, over sized clothing is coming back in.

What do you think?

Wishing you all a fabulous day!

  8. Pretty colours but I'm not a fan...the only one of the collection I like is pic 11...it has beautiful lines unlike the others which disguise the silhouette.

  11. Some nice pieces unfortunately I can't wear pastel colors they wash me out so I'm a tad jealous of anyone who can. I'm with you why is the clothing so big on these young women? They look like they raided their Mom's closet instead of wearing high-end fashion.

  16. Such beautiful colors and textures. You're right though...the fit seems to be a bit loose.

Can't wait to see your Fashion Week recaps. I won't make it in for the shows this year. Perhaps in August!!
