It's Monday morning again, and I'm wondering if you've been feeling slightly uninspired in the wardrobe department. I for one get tired of the same old, same old. And whether you work outside your home or not, it's time to once again figure out something original to wear. Also, now that it's Spring, it's time to move away from basic black, especially since this season fashion is all about COLOR!
Sometimes you just need a little inspiration to spark your creativity, so here are 7 different ideas for dressing for work (or play), and all without a bit of black to be found!
IDEA #1 - A WHITE BUTTON DOWN WITH A SORBET SKIRT
IDEA #2 - A BRIGHT PRINTED DRESS WITH A CONTRASTING JACKET AND SHOES
IDEA #3 - PAIR PALE BLUE AND GREY FOR ICY SOPHISTICATION
IDEA #4 - A BILLOWY FEMININE SKIRT WITH A SERIOUS SWEATER
IDEA #5 - COMBINE STRIPES AND PRINTS AND THEN ADD A FORMAL ACCESSORY (DARING!)
IDEA #6 - A SOLID BUT BRIGHTLY HUED DRESS WITH TONED DOWN NEUTRAL ACCESSORIES
IDEA #7 - A PRINTED MAXI SKIRT WITH A CROPPED JACKET (ADD A HAT IF YOUR WORK IN A CREATIVE FIELD)
Do any of these looks speak to your style? I personally like 3, 5, and 6. Which ones are your favorites?
Wishing you a happy and productive Monday!

every look is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely outfits. I adore the first two. I often avoid black, though I'm quite drawn to the mystery of black.
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous. I love 2, 3, 4, and 6! Very pretty all of them though :)) I hope you have a wonderful week dear!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this post! we portuguese wear to much black!
ReplyDeleteLove the sorbet skirts in the first picture. I don't like to wear too much black and rarely wear it in the spring and summer.

The white blouse is a classic and I'm on the look out for a new one for the summer. The first two are so pretty .. love them all! Great ideas and a reminder for me to change out all the black and grey I have for the office!!

Sharon,
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas here to get out of my fashion rut! Love the mixing of everything. I think my favorite is the button down with bright skirts.
Have a good week!

So cute! I'm loving that red striped skirt! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeletelove the icy look (gorgeous skirt i want!) and the yellow solid color jacket/dress.
ReplyDeleteI like the skirt and shoes in number 4, but I'm not a bulky sweater kind of girl (too much for my frame).
ReplyDeleteI have many fine knit cardigans that I use to brighten my looks. Every time I wear vivid red, or bright orange, I get so many positive comments.
I love maxi skirts and dresses! I also love a crisp white shirt. That's great thinking to pair it with sorbet colors. Nice!

I love #1, #5 (but no leopard for me), #6, and #7. You'd be proud of me - I didn't wear one stitch of black today!
ReplyDeleteThis is far off but if you could predict the very best (bright) color of fall/winter 2012 what would it be? I'm asking because I'm having a special scarf knitted and want something eye-catching to wear with a treasured leather jacket I have (in black of course - haha!).
My fave is the pale blue and grey ;)
ReplyDeleteLOVE.

Miranda
I love love love the last one, I'd definitely wear that all day everyday...
ReplyDeleteOh how I love ALL of these combinations, but the one with the more MATURE woman in white hair really got my attention, not only because I love the colors, but because she is still WORKING THOSE HEELS at her....age! BRING IT ON!
ReplyDeleteOh Sharon, you are so kind and your comments so generous. HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!!! Anita
I love #2. The older I get I find that tailored is the way to go. I have just been buying tailored pieces that I can mix and match and I find I get the most mileage out of them and you can never go wrong for work. I like to mix it up w/ colorful shoes or a fun accessory to keep it interesting. xo
ReplyDeleteI love #2, #3, and #7!
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon! Thank you for your sweet words about my gardening efforts, luckily we have sun and 20C now and we are playing in the dirt!
ReplyDeleteNow, I love the looks, yes inspiration sometimes needs to happen in our busy lives and my favourite is the serious sweater look, in the climate we live, never enough sweaters or cardigans! The full skirt is just so feminine. Another one i like are the pastel skirts and white blouses(: it is alwas a statement and Carolina H. has her signature look right! And for colour, love the gray blue combo...such a soft look, the skirt is my favourite though...the shape and length, just georgeous... thank you and have a lovely week...any ideas what you wear on Mother's day ((:? hugs Z
i love that first picture, the pastel colors are so lovely
ReplyDeleteGreat looks here - adore the white blouse and skirts!!
ReplyDeleteThe images are spectacular and thanks for the ideas. Truly it is time to venture out of the dark hues and into more fun colors. Even though here in NY we are still getting cool temps and rain, this has inspired me to make the transition. So Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Sharon!
