Friday Favorites: Mary Kay Timewise Repair Products

Friday, February 01, 2013

Happy Friday! And I have been really happy lately. The one thing we can't stop or control is time; and as time marches on, we age. It's a simple fact. We may feel young inside, but the mirror doesn't lie. I know, this doesn't exactly sound like a subject for a happy post... but like I said, I am happy. I'm grateful to have reached my age and to be where I am in life. But I'm not going to lie; I am also grateful to have found these amazing Mary Kay Timewise anti-aging products that at first I was skeptical about, but then I quickly became addicted to.

About a month ago, I met with Chani Weinberg, makeup artist and Mary Kay Consultant. Mary Kay is a company I remember from my own Mom...and that, coming from someone my age, means this company's been around for a Really. Long. Time.

And to be perfectly honest, as someone who is eternally trying to keep up with the times and stay youthful and relevant, Mary Kay was not really something I had considered. I love perusing the latest and greatest makeup and skincare lines at Nordstrom and Sephora like any stylish 20 something would! But Chani told me these Mary Kay Timewise products were like "botox in a bottle", so I decided I had to try them.

Here is the set I received:

TimeWise Repair™ Volu-Firm™ Set

Foaming Cleanser, 4.5 oz.
Lifting Serum, 1 fl. oz.
Day Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30*, 1.7 oz.
Night Treatment With Retinol, 1.7 oz.
Eye Renewal Cream, .5 oz.
Restore what was lost and lift away the years with this scientifically innovative regimen that proves it’s never too late to help rescue skin from the damage of the past and recapture a vision of youthfulness.
  • The look of deep lines and wrinkles is reduced.
  • Lifted facial contours appear restored.
  • Youthful volume is recaptured.
  • Even skin tone is revealed.
  • Vital moisture is replenished.

The first thing I noticed was the wonderfully clean and mild scent. I've written in the past that I am extremely sensitive to the way my facial products smell. If I don't like the way they smell they don't stand a chance. To me, using facial products needs to be a luxurious experience and the scent and texture are the two most important things to me (aside from the results of course).

Let's discuss the texture of the products. They are all rich, soothing, and in one word wonderful. These are most definitely not the products my mother used. Even the packaging is luxurious. And it's obvious that much thought and technology went into their design and production as shown below:

The night and day moisturizers contain a built in dispenser that provide the perfect amount per use without allowing the bacteria that's on your fingers back into the jar. The eye cream also has a high tech dispenser that fits right onto the tip of your ring finger and gives you just the right amount to pat around your eyes (everyone knows you're supposed to gently pat eye cream around your eyes with your ring finger.)

So if you're starting to feel a little down about the way your skin's been looking in the mirror and you're searching for some new products, I personally would recommend you try out the Mary Kay Timewise products.  Unfortunately I did not take before and after pictures, but friends have told me my skin looks glowing and my pores seem smaller. And just a few days ago I posted this status on Facebook:

"Genetically I have pretty good skin. I never used to wear base, but in my 40's all of the sudden I felt I needed better coverage for some visible sun damage and to brighten skin that was quickly losing its natural glow. About a month ago Chanie Weinberg of Mary Kay gave me a set of the luxurious Mary Kay Timewise skincare products. This morning as I looked in the mirror, I didn't feel I needed any foundation at all, so I skipped it. I will be 45 this summer."

And that pretty much sums it up!

To contact Chani Weinberg call 732-363-6762  and sign up on her Mary Kay page to shop for these and all the other fabulous Mary Kay products. (The makeup is luxurious as well!)

Note: I was not paid for this post but the above products were gifted to me. Everything I've written on this post is my honest and personal opinion.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Amazing and I trust your opinion, Sharon.
Also, intrerstingly I ignored my instinct about Mary Kay since my wedding day about 5 years ago, when a Prague based make up artist told me that she only uses Mary Key mineral powder for the brides for coverage...I could not believe how smooth and flawless my face looked (: on the very special day. I bought a pot of it...and since forgotten about all the good look it created but I have to definitely try the moisturizers you just recommended....it is so worth it...hugs and have a lovely weekend Z

  3. Mary Kay has definitely revamped their image lately..I have some amazing eye shadows that I use often. I haven't tried any skincare though...I have pretty decent skin as well...and have used drugstore brands for the most part...but as I creep into my mid thirties GASP...I know I might need to take it up a notch.
Have a great weekend...and we are still overdue for that coffee...hopefully life settles a bit soon...
