Featured! A Reminder to Keep Beauty In Your Life Amid Holiday Chaos

Monday, March 31, 2014

In the past few months I'm happy to say that I (and my home) have been featured in two cool online magazine and I wanted to share them here with you.

The first one, set in my home, was a gorgeous Passover tablescaping feature done by Papaya Events featured in JCreate Magazine and photographed by Chana Blumes Photography. I hope some of these ideas inspire you to get out of your (Pesach) kitchen and get creative with designing your Passover tablescape. After all, Pesach shouldn't only be about work work work.

Take a break and have some fun!

We sure did.

Devorah from Papaya Events works her magic...
 This is the beginning.
The beautiful pieces by Trendsettings of Lakewood add major sparkle to the space!

The second feature can be found in the new modest fashion publication Hadar Magazine's The Dressing Room where I show you how to incorporate Spring fashion into a (still) cold weather wardrobe. (Ugh I was hoping this one would be no longer relevant at this point!)

Here's the article:

Spring is finally here! Or is it? Everyone I know has had enough of this cold weather already.
I don’t know about you, but I am ready to pull out some of those breezy, cheerful spring pieces, and I don’t want to wait another second! So what if there’s snow still on the ground? I’m not letting that stop me from starting to incorporate spring into my wardrobe. Besides, maybe if we start wearing some sunny pieces, the weather will actually oblige and warm up.
And with just a little bit of ingenuity you absolutely can put together some (still) cold weather looks using spring and summer pieces. Don't believe me? Let me show you how I did exactly that.

I pulled out two of my favorite light tops: a breezy blue and white chevron blouse (Francesca’s) and a mesh and laser-cut white peplum top (Nordstrom). Then I searched my closet and imagined how I would wear them to keep consistent with the still cold weather.

For the first look, I decided to pair the chevron top with a cobalt leather jacket (Nordstrom) and a contrasting all-season gold bandage skirt (Maya’s Place), and finished the look with one of my favorite spring purchase: my white peep-toe booties (Kristin Cavallari). These booties are the perfect pair of shoes to take these trans-seasonal outfits from one season into the next.
This outfit will also be perfect for those days that start out cool and warm up slowly. All I’ll have to do is remove the jacket when it gets too hot.

Even by just changing your shoes, you can change the entire look of your wardrobe! Purchase these white booties HERE.

Remember to keep beauty in your life amid the chaos of your holiday preparations!

For the second look, I wanted to keep with a monochromatic white on beige look, so I paired the peplum top with a beige suede skirt and those fabulous booties. Because white is such a quintessentially summer color, the suede instantly warmed up the top keeping it appropriate for the cooler weather. Gold accessories finished the look and added further warmth.
In warmer weather I would wear this top with florals, silver and even black, but for now, the warm beige suede seemed just right.
Now it’s your turn. Open your closet and pull out your favorite spring pieces and start getting creative. Think about how you can pair them with some of your winter pieces to create relevant outfits for right now. Not only will you be inviting that dream of Spring into your life, you’ll also be expanding your wardrobe possibilities in ways you may have never imagined!
