Life can be unexpected. It can be scary and uncomfortable at times, but instead of fighting it, I try to enjoy the journey, and even throw in a curve ball of my own once in a while. Deciding on the spot to do something spontaneous or just going with the flow when the best laid plans go astray can be exhilarating and add a lot of flavor to life.

And I like to do that with my clothes too. I'd rather mix things up in unexpected ways and get a lot more bang for my buck, than just find something 'unique' that someone else designed and wear it over and over...blaah...boring.

A couple weeks ago I stopped into Mezzo boutique in Brooklyn and had fun doing just that. The store was filled with a huge variety of cool, modest pieces that included a little of everything and lots of color, so I decided to pair some of my favorite unexpected pieces together creating looks that became uniquely mine.
