It's a busy time of year for all of us. Are you making sure to take care of yourself?

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to experience a wonderful service at the Red Door Spa's 5th Avenue location. I was delighted when I arrived at Red Door Spa's elegant oasis of relaxation nestled high above 5th Avenue's bustling shopping mecca in the tony area between 52nd and 53rd Streets.

As the elevator doors opened,  I was welcomed warmly into a beautifully appointed space by the Red Door Spa's friendly staff.

After I checked in, I was escorted to an immaculate changing area, and immediately began to feel the frenzy of my day melt away as I entered the peaceful relaxation space. I can really appreciate the feeling that a well decorated space imbues, and this space, with its arched hallways and deep chocolate venetian plaster walls radiated the warm sense of being embraced and nurtured in preparation for the massage service.

My lovely massage therapist, then entered the area and escorted me to the massage room. On the way, she pointed out a beautiful space within the spa, with a cafe and outdoor terrace, for corporate events and small parties. 

The spa also has beautiful areas for hair, makeup and nail services, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city down below, for some wonderful nurturing and pampering.

I'm a big advocate of taking time out for yourself, and I believe that the benefits of massage go way beyond luxurious time for yourself. A one hour massage can relieve tension, help with circulation and detoxification, and will energize you throughout the rest of your day, making you more effective in all you have to do.

Although I have a membership at an in-and-out massage place, there is definitely something to be said for encountering the deluxe and luxurious, full spa experience of the Red Door Spa. The service was excellent from start to finish, and I walked out feeling completely relaxed, pampered, and ready to take on some serious Zara shopping before heading back to work.  I for one, will definitely visit the Red Door Spa again, and look forward to my next service there.

I know you're busy with everyone else, but don't forget to nurture and take care of yourself...you are worthy of the very best in life!
