Thanksgiving and Kislev: Getting Your Lights Bright

Monday, November 20, 2017

It's Thanksgiving week, and there's no better time to celebrate gratitude. And boy have we been celebrating! If you have been following my Insta-stories, you know we've been having a great time with my gratitude challenges all month. Gratitude has changed my life, and I know it's changed a lot of your lives as well.

The gratitude challenge has had such an impact, that I've decided to keep it going, but on a whole new level. Stay tuned for my upcoming Insta-stories, where I've teamed up with Chai Lifeline Southeast to share some powerful lessons of gratitude; because when you hear what the people of Chai Lifeline Southeast have to say, you'll realize that no matter what you may be going through, there is always something to be grateful for. And when we train our brains to focus on gratitude, there's no room for the negativity that sometimes haunts us and brings us so much sorrow.

Remember, what we think about affects how we feel. And how we feel is what our life becomes.

And now, with the month of Kislev upon us, I'd also like to talk about the importance of shining our lights onto the world. (Read my other post on this topic HERE.) As women, many of us have a hard time giving ourselves permission to truly embrace the full uniqueness of ourselves and show it to the world. Maybe we were taught to be humble, modest, and quiet, but that doesn't mean we don't each have special gifts that we were meant to share. We must find our inner lights and shine away!

As a matter of fact, I'm sharing my top 5 looks (and where to get them) from this past month, along with tips to increase the wattage of  your personal lights. Enjoy!

1. Be yourself, everyone else is taken. Why do we spend so much time trying to be like everyone else, when we are already perfect beings as we are?
Proenza Schouler dress from Esti's Brooklyn. Booties: YSL

2. Successful people are not "lucky". They go after what they want and create their own opportunities. They are not better or more worthy than you, they just know their own worth and that's enough to move them into action.
Leather and faux fur outfit: Limore Atelier.

3. Love yourself. Self love is the most powerful magnet for bringing more love into your life.
Dress: Limore Atelier. Shoes: Valentino from Amuze.

4. Your flaws are also your assets. Stop being ashamed of them, and embrace your imperfections. Self acceptance brings freedom from the fear that dims your light, and connects you with others who may be feeling the same.
 Dress: Raju. Booties: Jessica Simpson.

5. Know what you're good at, thank Hashem for it, and then share it with the world. It's not being a show off. It's using your gifts to shine your light and make the world better.
Top: Petit Pois From Head to Hose. Skirt: Esteez Online. Booties: Forever 21. Sunglass: Tom Ford

And finally, do not give a hoot about what other people say, and do not make up stories in your head about what other people may say. Just do your thang...you were born for it!

Until next time...

Love,

Sharon
