AN INDIAN WINTER...ALA CHANEL!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

The first time I saw this Chanel Resort 2012 collection my mouth dropped open in....well, I can't really put my finger on it. At first I was surprised that this was Chanel at all...at FIRST.  While the looks are certainly drop dead gorgeous, I felt like the over dramatized ethnic theme here slightly overpowered the quintessential Chanel style. But then, upon further inspection, once I looked beyond the costumized styling perfect for the showiness of the runway, I saw the actual clothing. And utimately this collection is replete with gorgeous dresses and skirts, sumptuous sweaters and jackets, and enough gorgeous chains, beads and accessories to merit the claim of being another highly acclaimed Chanel collection. The creativity here is beyond genius!

Now, how do you interpret these looks from runway to real way? Check out some gorgeous pieces I found (all under $100) that are reminiscent of this collection.

If you could choose one element you love (or hate) the most about this collection what would it be? I would love to hear your opinions!
Until Next Time,
xo

  1. I’ll give you both love and hate…..love the colors and all the metallic they used in the show. Hate the dark eyes on the women. Sorry but it makes them look like walking zombies and it reminds me of the raccoon eyes I used to walk around with when I was in my twenties. I can’t believe I ever thought that looked good!

  6. I adore that sheer blue dress. The models do just get so overdone for show, and it really does detract from the collection!

  11. I've always been a sucker for Indian fashions. I find them flattering, colorful, elegantly simple.

I got my hands on an authentic salwar kameez that I wear on Purim. But I could wear Indian garb all year round.
