Hey there! Hope you're all having a great weekend. Here in the New York area it's snowy and cold which personally is NOT my thing, but I know so many of you have been waiting for this for a long time, so hope you're enjoying. The one thing I do love about the snow is how it changes the whole look of the landscape and adds that extra sparkle when the sun reflects off of its crisp brightness.
And speaking of sparkle, there's nothing like adding a little excitement to your look with the sparkle of metallics. Whether by adding a touch of it with accessories or makeup or doing a full force metallic look from head to toe, it's a striking and fun way to mix things up a bit and wake us up from our winter blaaas. (I don't know about you but I'm feeling a little bla these days. How does winter affect you?)
Why not try a minimalistic makeup look that allows your eyes to shine bright with a touch of metallic shadow.
A fabulous metallic bag is the perfect accent to spring's pastel colors...
A sparkling backsplash will keep your time in the kitchen brilliant.
Try a metallic blouse to change up a classic black look...
Would you dare try the metallic nail? Just a little gold on your fingertips can make a huge impact!
Metallic accessories are a perfect way to add a touch of glitter to your life...
Invite old Hollywood glamour into your home by using metallics in your decor.
How about a great pair of metallic shoes as a replacement for black or neutral?
Head to toe metallics can look so rich...don't be afraid to mix your metals!
Sequins are still a great way to shine, but a smile is even better and brighter!
, Here's a great collage using metallics borrowed from a friend on Shopstyle...turn a mini dress into a chic tunic top by pairing it with a pencil skirt in a contrasting neutral or black...
What do you do to add shine to your life? How do you overcome your winter blues?
Wishing you all a sparkling day!!

so pretty! Love!
ReplyDeleteWe received less then two inches of snow yesterday and love it, it was so pretty coming down. May I recommend a wood stove and fireplace for warmth and light bulbs that imitates sunlight for winter blahs. A girlfriend said they work great you just might need a bulb or two for a boost. Love metallic but usually only in accessories and of course textiles!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday!

ReplyDeleteThank you for some beauty early in the morning. In the winter, I try to wear as much colour as possible. Otherwise, Vancouver's cold and wet winter will get to me. Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteSharon,
ReplyDeleteI am loving metallics right now - you're right...what a great neutral update from black or beige!
My toes are painted a gold glittery color - and I smile every time I bend over in yoga and see them!
Hope you've had a fantastic weekend!

I think that there is always something so magical about snow (as long as its not in a city!!!) How beautiful that you associated it with metallics (I'm currently obsessed with lurex)

Not my thing either and I'm feeling blah these days too. My vitamin D is probably low again, I just started taking it. Maybe some pretty metallic shadow would perk me up. xo
ReplyDeleteLove the first snowy picture!
ReplyDeleteI just read that you designed your own modest fashion clothing line. Have you posted your designs anywhere online? I'd love to look at it! I just got a sewing machine for Christmas and plan to slowly start learning to use it.. After my wedding (FEB 4!) I will be taking a sewing class :)
Such beautiful pics...and I have been dying to try metallic nail polish!

I always need a little sparkle in the winter ... I'm with you, not as happy with grey and snow. I'm always much happier in the sunshine! I think variety and change is especially needed where I am concerned in the winter ... whether it's a change in nail polish or a new haircut or a fresh new wallet ... I think these things distract me until spring gets here! lol Thanks so much for stopping by to see me, love ~ have a great week!

I can't believe how little snow we've gotten in NY this year after last winter. A little touch of metallic is a great way to jazz up any outfit or room. And I consider metallics a neutral of sorts :)
ReplyDeletelovely images :) I would like to know, maybe if you know/remember where did you get the photo with gold metallic ankle cuff shoes and glitter clutch. I like it a lot and would like to se more of this.. so.. if you know the author/owner... I would appreciate it so much :) Thank you very much in advance.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics.I would like to know if it is possible to buy the metallic blouse. And who is the designer?
