Couture for a Cause: The Joys of Life Part I

Friday, June 07, 2013

This past Tuesday night, the Couture for a Cause Event, sponsored by many wonderful companies including Freeda Wigs, went off like a charm. Well, not exactly, we did have some bumps in the road. Our guest host, Joan Rivers, was unable to attend because of the death of her sister. That was a pretty big bump! But after the shocking news, we gathered ourselves together, and wearing a positive attitude, went forward with what was to be the most amazing Couture for a Cause event ever. The venue was sparkling, the women were gorgeous, the raffles were amazing, and the fashion show was dream! But most importantly, the positive vibe of raising money for our causes gave the evening a most wonderful feeling that left all who worked tirelessly, contributed, and attended, simply glowing.
I'm thrilled to have these women as my new friends, they are all amazing!

Breezy Beckerman of Breezy's, and Daliah Myers, of Le Cake Chic, worked tirelessly in bringing CFAC the most amazing raffles that included a custom Freeda Wig, and a beautiful Michelle watch by The Jewelers Wife

One of the causes of our event was Shirat Devorah, the organization that helps Deborah Schochet, a woman from the community who was diagnosed with ALS and who's home was ravage by Sandy.

The other cause was to help people with kidney disease, something near and dear to my heart. Here I am with Orly, the woman who received the kidney that used to be mine

What an amazing feeling it was for me to overcome my fear of public speaking. Being up there with my co-chairs, Breezy Beckerman, Michal Weinstein of MLW Design and Esther Silber-Berg, made it easy.
The fashion of Raquel Couture was breathtaking!
And so was the children's fashion by Zoe Ltd.

Following the show the VIP ticket holders proceeded to the after party...
The VIP lounge was transformed from an uninspiring space to a magnficent and glowing room by the talented Sara Weisblum of SWP Events.

And my personal pride and joy of the evening was the publication of this book that I co-wrote and edited together with Toby Fishman of Eff Creative Group. Every guest received one as a parting gift. To purchase this book email me at ask.fashionisha@gmail.com.

As more pictures come in, I will continue to share the event with you.  Meanwhile, have a wonderful weekend!
