You may be wondering why a fashion and style blogger is reviewing a sushi cafe. But when I received the email from Raizy, a long time reader of this blog, she told me that some Fashion-isha inspiration, (specifically about  life beginning outside your comfort zone), really helped her take the leap that led her to this place. One day she was working as a graphic artist and the next she was opening Day 5 with her husband. It was an overwhelming and frightening experience.

So I automatically felt a personal connection to this new venue, and besides I adore sushi! It was clear that Raizy and her husband had put their hearts and souls into Day 5, so we set up a time to meet.

Attention to detail was apparent the moment I stepped inside the cafe. I felt welcomed and relaxed right away...the space was cozy and ambient; the decor was just right, and the background music was soothing (but not boring)...I notice these things, as many who are looking for a relaxing dining experience do as well.

Raizy explained why they chose "Day 5" as the name of the restaurant, because fish were created on the fifth day of creation, and that's how fresh the fish at Day 5 is.

"We buy the best quality fish available; our customers have the most authentic sushi experience that just happens to be kosher."

I ordered the most renowened item on the menu, the tuna pizza, and it was delicious. The fish was fresh and melded perfectly with the veggies and savory flavors that were artfully set on a thin and crispy crust. It was a shame that I had to get home because I could have stayed there for hours. To me, restaurants are about so much more than just the food, and Day 5 offers a truly authentic Japanese dining experience.

"We hear from our customers all the time that they cannot eat sushi anywhere else after they have eaten ours. There is a big difference in the quality...our chefs have worked at top sushi restaurants such as Nobu and Blue Ribbon Sushi."

Day 5 is truly a chic destination for the chic woman on the go...whether grabbing a post shopping lunch with a friend or enjoying a relaxing evening with your husband, you will appreciate all the fashionable and detailed touches...even the takeout bags are chic!

Day 5 offers sit down waiter service, take out, free delivery, curbside service, as well as catering.
