How To Look Like Your Daughter's Sister

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

It's completely flattering for me, but I imagine it must get annoying for my daughter. Whenever I'm with her and she calls out, "Ma...," the people around us inevitably are like, "What? She's you mother? I thought she was your sister!"

I promise I'm not saying this to gloat.  But I'm 45 years old and I look a lot younger. And people want to know why. Obviously I'm blessed with great genes, well, not everywhere, but on my face...yeah. But there is so much more. I would say there are three other factors at play when it comes to staying youthful: 1. attitude, 2. health, and 3. products. First, you need to have a positive attitude about life and try to stay happy and as stress free as possible. Second, you need to take care of your health. Eat small amounts of healthy, wholesome food, stay away from processed garbage, and exercise hard**. And finally, you need to use amazing products like Rodan + Fields. And that's what I want to talk about in this post.

Despite the fact that I follow my own anti-aging guidelines  (my life has just as many stressful moments as anyone's but I choose to find the good and work at always staying positive.  Plus, I eat very little and mostly natural food, and do yoga and run**), this summer marked my 45th birthday, and the few and far in between moments when I allowed myself the forbidden indulgence of facing the sun left me looking spotted, weary and...ugh...older.

Just around that time, my friend Debi Basch Rudensky, a beauty that I've known since summer camp 30 years ago, contacted me about an amazing skincare product, not well know to the public masses, that had miraculous qualities, and simply stated, worked!

Enter the universe of  Rodan + Fields, the products that Tish Cyrus swears by to keep her skin looking fabulous. And after two weeks of use, my skin was so noticeably changed that people asked me if I had   botox injected.

Melasma is a condition many women encounter due to hormone fluctuations and sun overexposure, and  when I started noticing a dark patch over my upper lip I was nothing if not mortified. And this has been my curse for the last several years. My beloved sunshine was now completely taboo...even with SPF 100 sunscreen. And every summer the melasma reared its ugly head no matter how much sunscreen I applied. And floppy hats are just so annoying at the beach and pool!

Debi sent me the Reverse collection which includes an exfoliating facial cleanser, a toner, a moisturizer, and a sunscreen. I was to use all the products twice a day...and guess what? They worked. Not only were all my spots and discoloration faded withing the first 2-3 weeks, but my skin had this dewy glow. It looked totally revived.

Now here's the thing about Rodan + Fields products. You can't buy them in stores. The company is built on direct sales and marketing so that the women using the products can actually build a business for themselves. How empowering!

I'm excited to say that I just signed up because I will be using the products as long as they work for me. Which I think will be forever. You can build a business for yourself with amazing products that work! All you have to do is sign up HERE.

My friend Debi Rudensky was the one who started it all for me.

Here is Debi's story:

"I had the opportunity of spending some time with Tish Cyrus (Miley's Mom) in her home this summer. She had introduced me to this incredible skin care line RODAN & FIELDS-named for the two dermatologists who created this line and Proactiv.  The line is strictly skincare and based on 4 regimens. The UNBLEMISH line completely cleared up my daughter Chloe's skin after two weeks!!! I am in love with the REDFINE line-which is what Tish uses - I call it a face lift in a bottle!! Products are very affordable and not complicated. They can't be purchased anywhere but through consultants:

Thank God so far everyone I have turned onto it has been loving it!! Im thrilled!!"

The regimens and bottom line are:

-Anti-aging skincare line from the world-renown doctors who created Proactiv -- what they did for      acne, they are now doing for aging skin.
-Ground floor opportunity in a 3 billion dollar industry where Rodan + Fields is leading the way.
-Products are clinically proven to work and come with a 60-day, empty bottle, money back guarantee.
-Four main skincare regimens created by the doctors (four simple steps in each regimen):
Redefine - for fine lines and wrinkles
Reverse - for reversing sun damage, age spots, melasma
Unblemish - for acne or more than 4 breakouts per month
Soothe - for sensitive skin, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis
 -Three ways to purchase:
Retail - directly off the website - shop now HERE
Preferred Customer - sign up at check out and receive 10% off and free shipping, one-time  $19.95 fee, $80 minimum every two months

 About the doctors:

Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields founded Rodan + Fields Dermatologists in 2002 to help people treat everyday skin concerns. Rodan + Fields quickly became a leading dermatologist brand in top-tier department stores. To broaden their reach and achieve their vision of bringing dermatologist-based skin treatments to everyone, Rodan + Fields became the first prestige skincare line to exit the department store and enter the direct selling market in 2008.
Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields authored National Bestseller Write Your Skin a Prescription for Change with Lori Bush. They are also the co-authors of UNBLEMISHED. Prior to beginning Rodan + Fields Dermatologists, Drs. Rodan and Fields created Proactiv® Solution, the best selling acne treatment system in America. Both are Stanford-trained professors of Dermatology and maintain private practices in Northern California.

  1. Lucky you. You do look fabulous! My kids used their original products many years ago to help fight their acne. I've been hearing lots of great things about this new line they have. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the review.

  2. This product sounds fabulous! It sounds weird but literally all of my friends (between the ages of 17 and 201!) use anti-ageing moisturisers rather than normal ones !

  6. Yes you do look incredibly young.....funny I am 48 and get the same thing (much to my sons horror) when on occasion they have thought we were "together', it took them DAYS to get over that one, haha.

I am intrigued by these products. I can sense your enthusiasm. I wonder why they aren't sold in stores? I may have to give them a try, I use a hodge podge and unlike you am not very disciplined with my regimen, but need to get more so. I'm at the tail end of what I have been using so may give this a shot. Thanks Sharon! Oh and your book is shipping today....enjoy!

  7. Hi Sharon,
These products truly sound wonderful. As I am in the middle of several quite expensive day and night creams etc. I will certainly consider these next!
