And I Present You With an Oscar! The amazing Oscar de la Renta

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

I love hearing from my followers, and when one reader wrote in last week asking me to write a post featuring the recent Oscar de la Renta collections, I was happy to oblige for 'Wedding Wednesday'.  She was correct in saying that as a designer, he creates some of the most beautiful clothes and style inspirations out there.

"Óscar Arístides Ortiz de la Renta Fiallo (born July 22, 1932) is a Dominican American fashion designer. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, De la Renta was trained by Cristóbal Balenciaga and Antonio Castillo, he became internationally known in the 1960s as one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy. An award-winning designer, he worked for Lanvin and Balmain; his eponymous fashion house continues to dress leading figures, from film stars to royalty, into the 2010s. De la Renta is particularly known for his red carpet gowns and evening wear." - Wikipedia

What I love most about this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 collection is the diverse variety of styles and fabrics included in just one collection. And yet when you look at it as a whole, it flows with a beautiful congruency.

In this brilliant Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2014 collection the classic flow of his overall style continues, yet the uniqueness of each look's individuality abounds appropriately for its proper season.

After looking at these magnificent clothes I decided if I could fill my closet with just one designer it would have to be Oscar!

A woman can dream can't she?
