NYFW Roundup Fall Winter 2015

Friday, February 20, 2015

Well I missed most of Fashion Week this season, but was able to catch the tail end, and I feel really good that I spent most of the first part of the week with my family doing what was most meaningful and important.

Priorities are everything!

OK. Now that I got that out of the way, can I just say how much fun I had in the short time I spent in the tents? And what was different this year was my complete change of attitude. I did not spend enormous amounts of time and money shopping for new clothes. I did not spend hours emptying my closet onto my floor to create complex outfits.

I just dressed as I normally do (I even wore something you've all seen before. Gasp!).  I made sure my shoes were actually walkable, but, no I did not wear flats. And I did not try to get photographed. I went as a journalist, and as far as I was concerned I couldn't care less if I got into street style blogs (which pretty much feature only size 0's anyway, and I've worked long and hard not to compete with impossibility.) I just had fun, networked, and kept my eye out for what's new in modest fashion to curate the best looks from this season's fashion week for you.

So enjoy what I've compiled here, and drop a note (or comment) to let me know what you think about all of these amazing clothes for next Fall!

Milly
An explosion of color and structure.

Tibi
 The classically modest girl's dream.

Sophie Theallet
Now this is a look I could live in.

Proenza Schouler
Interesting origami. Creative? Yes. Wearable? Not so much. But I adore the tights!

Tracy Reese

More Tracy Reese
Edgy, sophisticated, modern fashion. It doesn't get better than this.

Marc by Marc Jacobs
Safari meets utilitarian meets graphic art. Quintessentially cool like Marc himself.

Oscar de la Renta
Wow. Just wow. Newly named creative director, Peter Copping respectfully keeps with the late Oscar de la Renta's style aesthetic. I'm obsessed.

And now to end with some of my favorite front row-ers and their amazing looks:

So what do you think? Leave your comments below!

Have a wonderful weekend and a beautiful Shabbos.
