Tuesday ShoeDay: The One Spring Trend That Will Top Them All (literally)
Monday, March 09, 2015
Now I know some of you may be warming up to and getting excited about the trend, but I'm sure others will be rolling their eyes (or maybe even faux gagging themselves). But let me tell you, these were the official power shoes of the new millennium, and they will always have a special place in my heart.
If you were a young, stylish mom in the 90's, you'll remember pushing that darn double stroller, and lugging the kids in one hand and the grocery bags in the other atop those chunky shoes. They were sturdy and sassy and screamed what was on our minds: "I may be a weary young mom, but it's a brave new world and I can do it all on top of my fat platforms!"
Well at least that's how they made me feel.
I could have been delirious from postpartum lack of sleep, and cranky from trying to lose my baby fat, but once I climbed onto those shoe mountains I was chic and invincible.

Truth be told, I never stopped wearing them!

LOVE these! Thanks for expressing so eloquently the HUGE appeal of these awesome shoes, and the special place where they reside...in our hearts...and on our feet forever - haha!!
ReplyDeleteTuesday ShoeDay is my favorite! Especially today, when I wore to work a VERY special pair of pumps my husband recently bought me, even proudly texting a pic to a friend (who appreciates good shoes too). At first I felt a little guilty for doing this, not something I normally do, but then I thought of you and thought "Sharon would TOTALLY get this!" This was even before I saw this post! NOTHING beats a special pair of amazing shoes, to me as good as art or jewelry, especially when they are a gift from a loving husband!!
